Managing Partner

Jason has been with MBA since 2000 when the office was just a small collection of cottages located in McCrae on the Mornington Peninsula. He became a minor partner of the firm in 2004 and subsequently became sole Managing Partner in 2009. With extensive experience in small business and investor taxation and advisory matters, Jason loves nothing more than finding solutions to a wide variety of problems for our valued clients.

His absolute dedication to the process of "continuous learning" means you'll often find Jason attending one professional development session or another to ensure MBA stays ahead of the game in its ability to utilise the latest knowledge and cutting edge planning strategies for our clients.

In Jason's words: "Our clients are the lifeblood of our business so it is vital that we focus on their needs and provide them with valuable tailored strategies and ideas that can have a real impact on their lives".

He is also a fine longstanding Richmond Tigers supporter and member and enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.

Pat Mannix CPA

Pat Mannix CPA

Managing Partner

Pat has over 25 years' experience in small business tax advice. He championssmall business tax, investment and structure requirements. Pat’s commercial experience centres around advice for small business people, property investors and high net worth families via trust structuring and self-managed superannuation.

In addition, Pat has specific skills in valuing and advising physiotherapists, medical and allied health professionals and in particular, provides valuations for allied health practices Australia-wide. The valuation of other small businesses is also within Pat’s area of expertise. He has extensive experience in structuring direct property transactions within super and other tax effective strategies that address our clients’ retirement aims.

Pat says, "I enjoy the complexity of structures that create client value and set them up for the future. There's that personal satisfaction element in following our clients and guiding them on their journey."

Dereen Wallace MBA FTMA CTA

Partner

Dereen has a wealth of experience in providing quality and client-oriented taxation, accounting, and management accounting services for businesses, investors, multi-generational family groups, and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds. She is active within the local community, having served in varied roles, and is presently an Honorary Community Advisory Committee Ambassador as well as a Life Governor at Peninsula Health.

Andrew Bragg

Partner

Andrew has returned to the Mornington Peninsula where he previously provided business & taxation advice to SME's and high wealth individuals for 15 years. His in-depth knowledge & experience took him further afield, however, he has returned to join the MBA team. Andrew is responsible for a diverse range of clients including farmers, property investors & SMSF's. He takes a holistic approach to every engagement & gains a detailed understanding of his clients' business affairs to ensure they receive the best taxation, structuring & business advice in a timely & cost effective manner.

Janet Kohan (nee Hugo) CPA FTPA

Partner

Janet has been working with MBA since 2010. Janet brings over 30 years of experience providing quality taxation and management advice to a wide range of small to medium sized business clients, self-managed super funds and individuals alike. Her technical skills and client focus ensures clear communication with all her valued clients. Outside work, Janet enjoys the outdoors and has a great passion for travelling and discovering new cultures with her husband, Danny.

 

Bertrand de Saint-Pern

Consultant

Bertrand had both external audit and commercial/financial experience in South Africa before migrating to Australia in 1998. He first worked as an Audit Manager for a few years before becoming a partner in Houlgate Saint-Pern in Frankston in 2004. Bertrand's Accounting Practice merged with MBA on 1st July 2012 and he has continued with the MBA team in a consultant capacity. In his spare time, Bertrand enjoys the odd round of golf.

Sarah Johnston

Senior Accountant

Sarah joined MBA in 2012 through the Houlgate Saint-Pern practice merge and brings 15 years of tax and business services experience with her. Her thirst for knowledge and research capabilities ensures each client's individual circumstances are reviewed in detail to provide the best possible outcomes. Outside of work, Sarah is an exercise fanatic and loves living an active lifestyle with her 2 daughters and partner, Luke.

 

Amy Bignell - CPA

Senior Accountant

Amy has been with MBA since 2003 when she graduated with a double degree in Arts and Commerce. She is involved in the preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for Companies, Trusts, SMSF’s and Individuals. Outside of work, you will find Amy spending her spare time with her family, especially her much loved nieces and nephew, and friends or exploring new places overseas to satisfy her needs as a great travel enthusiast.

Irena Braybrook CPA

Accountant

Irena commenced with MBA in 2007. She is involved in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for individuals, small business clients, and investors. Always with a smile, Irena enjoys working with her clients to ensure their business and taxation needs are met. Irena likes to spend her time outside work with family and friends and, being a huge animal lover, enjoys playing with her two Birman cats and training her Doberman.

Julia Fauvette

Senior Accountant

Julia started with MBA in 2017 and has 20 year’s experience as a CPA providing quality taxation accounting for companies, trusts, SMSF’s and individuals. Julia prides herself on being easily approachable and enjoys developing strong relationships with clients.
Out of work Julia enjoys a hit of tennis and spending time with her two sons.
 

 

 

Rachael Waterhouse

Senior Administrator

Rachael has been with MBA since 2005, her role involves liaising with the tax office and clients, debtor management, as well as providing administrative support to the team. She also facilitates our corporate secretarial service for our corporate clients and liaises with ASIC. Outside of work, Rachael loves spending time with family and friends, especially her husband and daughter.

Tracy Chalk

Administration Support

Tracy started with MBA in 2017 and is our front of office Gem, always going above and beyond to ensure our client’s needs are met. As an office allrounder, Tracy contributes in all areas of administration support to our Team. Outside of work Tracy is busy raising her two daughters with Husband Gareth.
